About his class: Join Erin Luna, natural dye artisan of Black Rat Farms, in exploring the alchemy of natural dyes. Learn about different dye plants you can grow and gather locally, the historical and cultural implications of natural dyes, and the basics of how to dye fiber with natural materials. Erin will guide students on some basic pattern making, color theory, and how shifting the pH of dyes affects color. Participants will each leave with their own hand-dyed silk scarf in a variety of colors.
